Veterans building relationships, one home at a time
Houses built over 25 years ago run the risk of the garage ceiling collapsing as the ceiling was secured by clouts and the pressure difference between the roof space and garage on a windy day will cause the clouts to knock out of the timber, causing the ceiling to collapse
The CEO for I’ve Got Your 6 (IGY6) Foundation approached ICFT requesting additional offices built at their new premises in Chelsea As it was out of our normal operating area, we worked weekends building two additional office spaces within their new shop front. It took three weekends but it was well worth it.
Warning, not for the faint of heart This client called ICFT with a serious problem, there was a smell emanating from her study but she couldn’t locate where it was coming from so she called us to assist.
A room is not a room without a view – and this room needed one! The second bedroom was converted into two separate rooms but the third room needed a window so we pulled the existing plaster down, fitted a lintel and reframed the wall. We then fitted the window and redone the brickwork before relaying the plaster and fitting out the trimming. The window looks a treat and the client has a wonderful new view.
With lockdowns behind us, working from home is now becoming the norm but using the spare bedroom isn’t the most practical idea The owners of this home knew this and contacted ICFT. We cut the floating floor, walls and ceiling to expose the frame, erected the new walls, installed soundproof batts, lined and painted. We still have about two days left on the job – finishing with a second coat of paint and fitting out the door, skirting and trimming around the door. All in all, a fine looking office
The final piece of this project where we turned a 2 bedroom into a 3 bedroom! The second bedroom was big enough to transform into two smaller rooms and still meet the requirements for a bedroom size. It was as easy as putting up a dividing wall and lining it with Plasterboard and relaying new floating floor. What a great result!
For this job the owners wanted the linen cupboard removed and the bedroom door relocated to where the closest was. The job itself was very straightforward and the construction was completed within three days, but the plastering took an additional 2 days to fully complete, ensuring the new plaster board blended into the original 80 year old plaster so there was no tell tail signs of the repairs.
